When I Die

Don't be so phony.

No, you treat me different
So caught up in the title
the belief of accomplishment
the scent of success

But, every glossy picture
contains a smudge
every success story
an undesirable backdrop

I refuse to get caught up
and dragged down
I won't place belief in
a superficial reality that
submits to emptiness and
creates loneliness

I am who I am
